Cincinnati Entertainment Awards Rock the House

The sold-out show opened with a tribute to King's most famous alumnus, James Brown, led by Bootsy Collins. Live performances followed by The Sundresses, Eclipse and The Seedy Seeds (pictured), capped off by a 30-minute set from Grammy Award winner Ralph Stanley, who recorded for King Records in the 1950s. The CEAs were part of a day-long celebration of the 65th anniversary of Cincinnati’s own King Records. City Council passed a resolution authorizing funds to erect a plaque commemorating King Records’ place in local and national music history; the plaque was designed and donated by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and erected at the old King studios and offices in Evanston during the day.
